TV Legend Loves Animals So Much That He’s Giving His Life to Them! The Earth Site
How much do you love animals? We’re willing to bet you don’t love them quite as much as this guy. Or maybe you do, who knows.
In 2012, Sam Simon — co-creator of the longest-running scripted television series, The Simpsons, and writer for Taxi and It’s Garry Shandling’s Show — was diagnosed with colon cancer. His doctor gave him a three month life expectancy.
“Is it curable?” asked Simon. “We don’t use that word,” said the doctor.
One can only imagine what was going through Simon’s head as he worked through this difficult time in his life. However, two years later, Simon says he is happier than ever.
That happiness seems to be due, at least in part, to his decision of his multimillion-dollar fortune: save animals, help people, and give a voice to the voiceless.
As it turns out, believing he was probably going to lose his life is what actually turned Simon’s life around for the better. He took a close look at what he had accomplished and what he wanted his legacy to be, and then he did something spectacular.
