If you’re searching for natural wonders to explore, look no further than Oregon. The Columbia River Gorge offers 292,500 acres of majestic beauty, with plenty of hiking trails to experience and waterfalls to admire, including Multnomah Falls, the tallest in Oregon. Geology enthusiasts can also revel at the Gorge’s impressive basalt columns, which form natural hexagons.
The Colombia River Gorge is home to 90 waterfalls on the Oregon side of the gorge alone! The incredible variations in altitude, humidity, and terrain allows for a very diverse ecosystem to grow in this region. The Colombian River Gorge can experience 75-100 inches of precipitation annually, on average — making some parts (the West side) of the gorge a certified temperate rainforest!
Take a look at the incredible beauty of the waterfall capital of the world! It definitely is on my list of future destinations!
