15+ Of The Best Nature Photos You Will See Today

When people think about science, they don’t usually think about incredibly beautiful photographs of our amazing planet. But when The Royal Society is involved, it changes everything.

The Royal Society, which is “a fellowship of many of the world’s most eminent scientists and is the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence,” had some incredible entries in its third annual photography competition to showcase the splendor of our world. With more than 1,100 different photographs submitted, the competition had incredibly high standards, and only the best were chosen to be winners and runners up.

The competition also had a number of different categories in which photographers could have their work considered, including astronomy, behavior, earth science and climatology, ecology and environmental science, and micro imaging.
